Intro to Karting
For the karting enthusiast or novices.
Adult classes: 13 yrs. & Up
Juniors: Cadet classes 9-12 yrs. & Kids Classes: 5-8 yrs.
We take pride in our fine-tuned, proven and popular programs we have been conducting for decades, ensuring you will get up to speed sooner than you’d ever imagine. Prepare for an exhilarating day with a very high “fun factor”!
Our day starts with “Sign-In” where everyone will sign required waivers, then will start the day with a classroom briefing on kart and track safety, racing terminology, racing flags, and racing line and techniques.
Our instructors will then take you on a track walk to show you the racing line, braking and turn-in points, apexes, acceleration, and exit points, as well as passing areas. During the track walk students are encouraged to ask questions.
Then you’ll suit up into your racing gear!
We’ll provide you with the essentials: kart racing suit, full face helmet, neck collar and gloves. The best shoes to wear are karting or wrestling shoes that cover the ankles, and have a very thin sole for better pedal feel. Wrestling shoes are available at your local sporting goods store.
Once you’re suited up, we’ll make sure you’re fitted properly in one of our race-prepped karts. Any adjustments necessary will be made at this time ie: pedal length, seat pads, etc.
We’re off to the track!
You’ll need full focus while you learn to navigate the track layout while getting used to being only 2″ off the ground in your race kart, a view that every formula car racer experiences!
We’ll work with you every step of the way. Our instructors have years of experience teaching all skill levels and age ranges. You can progress at your own pace, and those who progress quickly will not be held back. Those who may be a bit timid at first will have the opportunity to work up to speed as they feel comfortable. Both skill levels and everything in between will be grouped accordingly to ensure an enjoyable and safe day.
Our instructors will be there on the track to help you stay on your racing line, show you the braking and acceleration points, cornering and passing techniques.
On the lead and follow session, you’ll get a chance to follow right behind your instructor on track to perfect your racing line. This will be done at a speed you’re comfortable with so that you can really see where you’re supposed to be on the track.
There will be plenty of open practice sessions to put your best laps together. This is the time to practice what you’ve learned to be smooth and consistent with every lap…and of course, a time to dice with your buddies for bragging rights!
At the end of the day, (as we have seen over the many years of teaching schools), you’ll see dramatic progress in your racing skills after one day of instruction, something that can take a person several months to acquire on their own without instruction.
Without even realizing it, you’ll even become a better driver in your street car. Why? Because you’ll be looking further ahead as you’re driving, your reaction skills will increase, and you’ll be able to anticipate situations ahead of time to take the right course of action. These skills are what everyone will appreciate, especially parents who have teens!
